The number of UK start-ups has grown steadily over the past five years. There are various statistics contained in the House of Commons Business Statistics briefing paper published in December 18, and on the websites of ONS and FSB. According to these organisations, there were 5.4 million microbusinesses (0-9 employees) in the UK in 2018, accounting for 96% of all businesses. (more…)

A recent survey by training organisation Today’s PA illustrated that PAs and office professionals play a strategic role in their business and take on wider responsibilities in the company, working in collaboration with other departments. Employers are beginning to recognise that PAs are an untapped resource with a wealth of knowledge and experience, and a valuable contribution to make to the business. The Hays PA Report 2015 asked what makes a successful PA and found that it’s an exciting time for PAs and their employers who know what skills to develop and how to make the most of them.
